There is an epic balancing act in software today, fought between customization and convention. When to build, when to buy? When to create new solutions or reuse those already created? What are the pros and cons to either? I don’t think that there is a quick answer that is going to always be true for any of these questions? Each situation brings with it too many diverse aspects. Remapping Ctrl Key in Ubuntu

On a Sun keyboard, the ctrl key is actually in the space that the caps lock key occupies on a standard qwerty keyboard nowadays. In a program where the ctrl key is often used, this positioning can be helpful as no Vulcan figure stretches are required for common key patterns. So, why not change caps lock to be a control key.
